 The Automotive Mechanic specialize in re-manufacturing of classic vehicles including build out and repair.  

 Responsibilities: 

  • Perform mechanical work in diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing the full range of vehicles, equipment and components.  
  • Use and operate a variety of tools and testing equipment in a safe and effective manner. 
  • Provide your own tools & small equipment. 
  • Solid skill in electrical systems, both old and new, capable of wiring a complete car, as well as electrical diagnosis and trouble shooting 
  • Capable of steering/suspension repair & rebuilding, knowledge of alignments & geometry effects on the drive of a vehicle. 
  • Strong knowledge of all things drive train & power train, must be able to perform light engine assembly, engine & transmission installation, all needed connections between all systems, rebuilding of rear differentials & axles. 
  • Experience in retrofit a/c systems, as well as installation of aftermarket a/c systems. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

 Requirements: 

  • 1-5 years of automotive experience (classic, hot rod & late model). 
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.  
  • High drive to successfully complete a job to the top level of expectations. 
  • Reliable transportation. 
  • Some performance & vehicle modification knowledge is a plus. 
  • Light fabrication skills are a plus. 
  • Dexterity and coordination. 
  • Mechanical skills and knowledge of mechanical systems 
  • Troubleshooting skills. 
  • Familiarity with complex electronic control systems. 
  • Ability to use computerized diagnostic equipment well. 
  • Knowledge of both carburetion & fuel injection fuel systems. 
  • Good sense of independence & the willingness to find a correct solution to any problem. 
  • Not to be afraid to ask for help when the time comes & to utilize the knowledge and assets around you. 
  • Great sense of humor and an upbeat attitude. 
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills. 
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain a customer-service mindset. 

 Physical Demands: 

  • Standing, and walking most of the workday.   
  • Repetitive motions may include the wrist, hands, and/or fingers. 
  • Routine duties require sitting for prolonged periods, standing, walking, stooping, bending, stretching, and lifting up to 20 lbs.
